Layers is a secure, private workspace for document editing, visual collaboration and professional templates. Everyday PDF adjustments happen inside a high-performance, encrypted processing layer, while only the boards and projects you choose to save are stored behind row-level security — with a tiered retention schedule: session-only on Free, 24 hours on Plus and 7 days on Pro.

What we build
Most document tools send your files through remote servers for basic tasks. Layers handles everyday PDF work inside a protected, zero-retention processing pipeline, so the finished file reaches you directly and is never stored on our infrastructure.
Around those utilities sits an infinite vector whiteboard for flowcharts, diagrams, deck reviews and PDF annotation, a Projects area that keeps every file for a piece of work together, and a template studio for polished, export-ready documents including CVs, invoices, KPI and OKR dashboards, project budgets and expense sheets.
We intentionally keep Layers out of regulated domains. Features that would turn a design utility into a system of record — such as e-signatures, contract execution, medical records or financial reporting — are not part of the product, so you can stay focused on creative document work.

Privacy first
Document processing is fast and secure. Your files are never queued or retained — they are wiped right after your session.
Scoped data
Only board metadata and snapshots are stored, behind row-level security scoped to the board owner.
Out of scope on purpose
No signature pads, contract flows, medical or tax records, personal-data extraction, or native card fields.
