Split PDF
Split a PDF into separate pages — free and in our secure workspace
Drop a PDF below and Layers separates it into one file per page straight away. The whole thing runs inside this workspace session using a private PDF engine — nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and the bytes are cleared from memory the moment you leave.

How to split a PDF online
- 1
Drop your PDF in
Drag the file onto the upload area at the top of this page, or click it and pick a PDF from your files.
- 2

Layers loads the document locally and shows how many pages it found. Nothing is sent to a server.

- 4
Download what you need
Download individual pages, or open the full workspace if you would rather keep a custom page range together.
Common questions
Is splitting a PDF here really free?
Yes. Splitting is one of the free secure tools, covered by the guest daily allowance. You only need a plan for cloud conversions, AI tools and premium templates.
Does my file get uploaded to a server?
No. Splitting uses a PDF engine that runs inside your workspace session, so the file bytes stay in our secure processing layer and are wiped from memory when you finish.
Can I extract a specific page range instead of every page?
Yes — open the full workspace and use the split tool there to keep a chosen range together in one document.
Is there a limit on how big the PDF can be?
Guests can work with files up to 10 MB, Plus raises that to 50 MB and Pro to 500 MB.
Will the split pages look different?
No. The pages are copied, not re-rendered, so text stays selectable and images keep their original quality.
